Over the years, Mr. Johnson has participated in countless alternative dispute resolution processes. After seeing both successful and unsuccessful meditations, he is convinced that success or failure often hinges on the mediator selected. A good mediator does not merely serve as a communicator of offers. Instead, good mediators work with each party to clarify the issues and together they search for reasonable and acceptable means to resolve disputes.
As a mediator, Mr. Johnson connects and communicates with people from all walks of life. On a personal level, these communications skills enable him to understand and express each individual's goals, expectations and needs to the other party. On a professional level, he can explain complex legal questions and frame the issues clearly enough to be understood by lawyers or laymen.
Peter Johnson has extensive experience and in-depth training in mediation, including 34 hours of instruction through the University of Washington Law School. His background includes a wealth of experience in several areas of law, including:
- complex product liability litigation - trucking and commercial carrier liability - probate - wrongful death claims - employer-employee disputes - family law - commercial contracts - construction law - real estate - insurance coverage and liability - landlord-tenant disputes - motor vehicle collisions (from simple collisions to complex accidents involving multiple parties, trucking companies and government entities)
